Language Diversity and National Languages in Higher Education
I would like to draw the attention of all members of EFNIL to the attractive conference announced below. Please, note that this event takes place only two weeks after the Annual Conference of EFNIL in Dublin.

The conference is dedicated to the use of national languages in European higher education. In some European countries the national language is under serious challenge as the language of instruction in higher education. The issue will be discussed in the context of national policies and laws, multilingual policies of the European Union and UNESCO’s worldwide promotion of language diversity.

We invite you to present the state of the national language in your country at the conference and provide suggestions on how to participate in the international arena and still preserve the national language. Please notify us of your participation by 20th September at metahu@zrc-sazu.si.
Your views and suggestions will be included in the final resolution of the international conference. We ask you to submit your written contribution with an abstract in English (in total not more than 10,000 characters) by mid October. We would like to include your article in a publication that will be published during the conference. Please submit your article to the following e-mail address: metahu@zrc-sazu.si .
